JK Bank services go down yet again, costumers suffer

The costumers of Jammu Kashmir Bank were on Tuesday put to a lot of inconveniences after services went down once again across the Kashmir Valley on Sunday. Reports reaching Kashmir News Service (KNS) said that J&K Bank services including ATM and mPay services were down since early morning today, thereby putting costumers into a lot inconveniences. They said that the services were down at most places and costumers had to face lot of difficulties while withdrawing cash and do any online transactions. “Even as money was deducted from our accounts, but we were unable to collect the cash from the ATM. North Korean drone with payload shot down by police team in JK’s Kathua

Jammu and Kashmir police Sunday claimed to have shot down a North Korean drone which is having a payload attached to it, Officials said. An official told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) informed that on the basis of drone activity observed in the area of Talli Hariya chak under police station Rajbag in district Kathua, an early morning search party of police was being regularly sent in the general area. "Today early morning, the search party observed a North Korea drone coming from the border side and fired at it," police said. Police added that the drone was shot down and is found to have a payload attachment with it which is being screened by the bomb disposal experts—(KNO)

A case has been filed against BJP national spokesperson Nupur Sharma in Mumbai over her alleged remarks on Prophet Muhammad (SAW)during a television show. A 27-year-old truck conductor was found dead inside truck in Khonkan Dalgate area of Srinagar on Sunday morning. Official sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 27-year-old truck conductor identified as Sandeep Singh resident of Jammu was found unconscious inside his truck in Khonkan Dalgate. Kashmiri Pandits are upset that the Himachal Pradesh government has drastically reduced the number of seats in government medical colleges for students from the community. Ashok Raina, a social activist, told UNI that after the Pandits fled the Kashmir Valley in the last 1980s, Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray reserved seats for the community in every engineering and medical colleges of Maharashtra besides other institutions. Bijbehara gunfight: 2 militants killed, search on

Two militants were killed after a gunfight broke out between militants and government forces in Sheetipora village of Bijbehara in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Saturday evening. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of police, Army's 3 RR and CRPF after receiving information about the presence of militants launched search operation in the area. He said that as the joint team of forces intensified searches towards suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the party, which was retaliated, thus triggering an encounter. He said two militants were killed during exchange of firing. However, the identification of the militants is yet to be ascertained—(KNO)

Suhail Dar An encounter has started between militants and Government forces at Sheetpora Bijbehara area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat  that on saturday evening a joint group of 3 RR  and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the area launched cardon and search operation. During the cordon, the hiding Militants opened fire on the troopers triggering an encounter. 2-3 militants are beleived to be trapped in the area Meanwhile,Kashmir Police Zone in a tweet confirmed the encounter. “#Encounter has started at Shitipora, #Bijbehara area of #Anantnag. PSA detenue released from Jail, handed over to JIC Humhama

A detenue detained under Public Safety Act in January this year has been released from Srinagar Central Jail and handed over JIC Humhama for further investigation. Police had arrested a man from Sumbal area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district who presently lives in HMT area of Srinagar in January this year. Subsequently, the man identified as Abdul Hameed Danga son of late Ghulam Muhammad was booked under Public Safety Act vide order no DMS/PSA/112/2022 Dated 25/01/2022 and lodged in Srinagar Central Jail. Police sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust the detenue was released from the jail and subsequently handed over to JIC Humhama for further disposal. (KNT)

A 19-year-old youth who was critically injured in a road accident in his native village Frisal area of south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Wednesday, succumbed today, officials said.
