The United States of America has condemned the derogatory remarks made against the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by two members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Ned Prince, the official spokesperson of the US State Department speaking to the media said, "Well, this is something that we’ve condemned. We condemn the offensive comments made by two BJP officials and we were glad to see that the party publicly condemns those comments." FATF removes Pakistan from its ‘Grey- List’

The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has removed Pakistan from its Grey List. As per news reports, The decision was taken by the FATF hybrid plenary meeting which met in Berlin and was the final one under the two-year Germany Presidency of Marcus Pleyer. Though a formal announcement has not been made yet and is expected to be made later in the day, sources, as quoted by Tribune, said Pakistan was found in compliance with all the 34 aspects it was asked to improve upon. Pakistan had been on the FATF grey list continuously since June 2018. The removal will enable Pakistan to access loans at cheaper interest rates as well as lower the risk of investing in the country.

National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday conducted raids at several locations in Baramulla, Budgam and Srinagar districts in a case related to the Jamaat-e-Islami funding case. According to a statement, NIA conducted searches in Jamaat-e-Islami (Jel)Funding Case (RC-03/2021/NIA/DLI) at 06 locations in Baramulla, Budgam, and Srinagar districts. The statement reads that the case pertains to the activities of the members of Jel who have been collecting funds domestically and abroad through donations, particularly in the form of Zakat, Mowda and Bait-ul-Mal purportedly to further charity and other welfare activities but are using funds so collected for violent and secessionist activities. A rooftop of several residential houses was damaged on Thursday due to gusty winds in Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Gusty winds coupled with rainfall damaged the rooftop of residential houses in many areas including Chinnar, Preng, Lari Preng area of Ganderbal district. With parts of Kashmir facing drought-like situation due to low water level, farmers on their own are arranging bulldozers and other machinery to clean canals so that they can irrigate their fields. Fayaz Ahmad, a farmer from Kakapora Pulwama said that lift irrigation schemes weren't made functional when water level was normal in Jhelum. “We repeatedly requested authorities to clean canals which aren't dependent on lift irrigation schemes so that more water can reach paddy fields,” he added. “Now with their pleas falling on deaf ears, we hired bulldozers and other machinery and cleaned all canals in the area due to which the carrying capacity of canals has increased and more and more land is getting irrigated,” he said. China has put a hold on the UN at the last moment on a joint proposal by India and the US to list Pakistan-based militant Abdul Rehman Makki as a global terrorist under the Al Qaida Sanctions Committee of the Security Council. Makki is a US-designated terrorist and brother-in-law of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) chief and 26/11 mastermind Hafiz Saeed. Army trooper killed in ‘accidental’ grenade blast in Kupwara

An Army trooper was killed in an accidental grenade blast in the frontier Kashmir district of Kupwara, official sources said. They said a grenade exploded accidentally when the victim Signal-Man identified as Bharat Yaduwanshi was on sentry duty at Gonipora Gugtiyal Camp in Kupwara. Sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the injured soldier was rushed to 428 Field Hospital Zangli, Kupwara, where he succumbed to his injuries.
