In 2021, religious freedom conditions in India significantly worsened. During the year, the Indian government escalated its promotion and enforcement of policies—including those promoting a Hindu-nationalist agenda—that negatively affect Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Dalits, and other religious minorities, the latest report US Commission on International Religious Freedom noted. At least five persons were injured after a lightning bolt hit a tree at Botanical garden Srinagar on Thursday evening. The Delhi Police said on Wednesday that it has registered a case against some people who are allegedly spreading messages of hate, inciting various groups and creating situations which is detrimental for the maintenance of public tranquillity. 17 year-old girl hit by School bus, dies in Ashmuqam Anantnag

A 17-year-old girl was killed after hit by an School bus in Grend Ashmuqam area of South Kashmir's Anantnag district on Thursday. Official sources told GNS that the accident took place near Grend Ashmuqam this Afternoon. Soon after hit by the School bus, the girl identified as Shafia Jan Daughter of Ab Rasheed Bhat of Grend Ashmuqam was immediately shifted to PHC Ashmuqam for treatment. 57-year-old man’s mutilated body found in Srinagar

Body of a 57-year-old man was recovered in Bemina area of central Kashmir's Srinagar district on Thursday. Reports reaching GNS said that the body was recovered at Abu Bakar Housing colony Bemina Srinagar. On being informed, a police team reached the spot and took the body into its possession. The deceased has been identified as Mohammad Ashraf Malik (57) son of Mohammad Sultan Malik, a resident of Housing Colony Bemina.
