Al-Qaeda has issued a threat relating to India saying that they will conduct suicide attacks in Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Mumbai and Delhi to "fight for the dignity of our Prophet". The threat statement said, "saffron terrorists should now await their end in Delhi and Bombay and in UP and Gujarat". "They shall find refuge neither in their homes nor in their fortified army cantonments. May our mothers be bereaved of us if we do not avenge our beloved Prophet." "We shall kill those who affront our Prophet and we shall bind explosives with our bodies and the bodies of our children to blow away the ranks of those who dare to dishonor our Prophet... [They] shall find no amnesty or clemency, no peace and security will save them and this matter will not close with any words of condemnation...

While mainly dry weather has been predicted, temperature recorded a slight drop at most places in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday. A meteorological department official here told GNS that Srinagar recorded a low of 15.0°C against 15.5°C on the previous night, he said. The temperature, he said, was above normal by 1.6°C during this time of the year for the summer capital. Qazigund recorded a low of 12.4°C against 12.2°C on the previous night. The temperature was 0.4°C above normal for the gateway town of Kashmir, he said. Twenty-four students studying in a college in Karnataka’s Dakshina Kannada district were on Tuesday banned for a period of seven days from attending classes for wearing hijab. The decision was taken by authorities of the Uppinangadi Degree College in Puttur taluk after the students refused to attend classes without taking off their hijab. Tuesday’s incident comes as the government of Karnataka has issued guidelines for schools and colleges making uniform compulsory for students without giving any room for wearing hijab in classrooms. One militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter in orchards of Aloora Badimarg area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday. Official sources told GNS, that one militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter, however identity of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained. Danishwar Hameed An encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Badimarg area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday afternoon, a joint group of 34 RR, CRPF and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in Shopian's Badimarg launched a cordon and search operation. The hiding militants opened fire on the troopers during the cordon, triggering an encounter. 2-3 militants are believed to be trapped in the area.
