Assembly elections should be held in Jammu and Kashmir so that the people have an elected government which only can end their miseries, National Conference (NC) president Farooq Abdullah said on Monday. Election should be  held. This government is not the government of the people, it is bureaucracy. People’s miseries will not go away until there is an elected government. For that, it is important that elections take place, people vote and their own government comes into power, Abdullah told reporters in Pulwama. An encounter has started between militants and Government forces in the Panipora forest of Zaloora area in Sopore of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Official sources told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday, a joint group of RR, and Jammu Kashmir Police after receiving inputs about militant presence in the Zaloora area of Sopore launched a cordon and search operation. During the intervening night 5/6 June 2022, Police party from PP Zachaldara while naka checking at main bazar Zachaldara intercepted a vehicle Eeco bearing Regd.No Jk 05C/4553 which was signaled to stop by the alert naka party for checking. Around 32 percent men and around one percent women use any form of Tobacco in Jammu Kashmir and cigarette is main tobacco product used J&K, the National Health and Family Survey-5 (NHFS-5) reveals. Official data available with news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has revealed that nearly one-third (32%) of men, but only 1 percent of women, age 15-49 use some form of tobacco. "Tobacco products mostly used by men are cigarettes (27% ), bidis (4%), hookah and cigars or pipe (2% each).
