Home Ministry advances deployment of 200 companies of paramilitary troopers to Kashmir

The Union Home Ministry has reportedly advanced the deployment of the remaining companies of paramilitary forces for the annual Amarnath yatra and also directed the strengthening of the police system in the Kashmir valley Kashmir to check the surge in targeted killings, Daily Excelsior reported. The JK admin has decided to challenge J&K and Ladakh High Court’s judgment regarding the exhumation of body of Amir Latief Magrey, one of the four persons killed in an “encounter” at Hyderpora area of Srinagar last year. Allowing a petition by Amir’s father— Mohammad Latief Magrey—a single bench the court on May 27 last had asked the admin to make appropriate arrangements for transportation of the body to native village in Ramban for according burial “sans further delay”. Two non-locals have been shot at and injured in the Magraypora area of Budgam's Chadoora area. An official told The Kashmiriyat that two non-locals working at a brick kiln were shot at by Militants in Budgam's Cahdoora area on Thursday evening. The injured were rushed to the hospital for treatment. Hospital officials identified the injured as Dilkhush and Goria both migrant labourers. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has reiterated support for the resolution of the Kashmir issue as per the United Nations resolutions, Hindustan Times reported. "Another issue is the Kashmir issue and in line with the expectations of our brothers and sisters from Kashmir, we support the resolution of the issue according to the UN resolutions," Erdogan said. Erdogan raised the Kashmir issue during the visit of Pakistan's PM to Turkey who is said to have "informed" the Turkish President of India’s action in Jammu Kashmir and how they pose a threat to "regional peace and stability."
