The Legal Metrology Srinagar today sealed a Warehouse of a prominent wholesaler at Karan Nagar, Srinagar for selling non-standard packaged sweets and confectionery items meant for children. Acting on a complaint alleging that a wholesaler in Karan Nagar was selling packaged food items in contravention of Legal Metrology norms, the team of Legal Metrology Officers inspected the premises. During the comprehensive inspection, it was revealed that a huge quantity of products consisting mainly of sweets and confectionery items meant for kids were in contravention of Legal Metrology norms. Iran has successfully launched a domestically-developed hybrid-propellant satellite carrier rocket for the second time into space, a Defense Ministry spokesman announced. The three-stage satellite carrier Zoljanah, which uses both solid and liquid fuel engines, could compete with its “most modern foreign counterparts”, Xinhua news agency quoted spokesman Ahmad Hosseini as saying to the local media. The carrier rocket is used for suborbital missions, he added, noting the third development phase of the launch vehicle has started. On June 19, Hosseini said the Zoljanah satellite carrier will be capable of putting “payloads weighing up to 220 kg into the orbit at an altitude of 500 km”. The mercury maintained an upward trend across Jammu and Kashmir with Srinagar recording season’s hottest day on Tuesday at 33.2°C. Babar Rather Bandipora, June 28 (GNS): A young motorcyclist died in a road accident in the Rakhi Asham area of Sumbal in north Kashmir's Bandipora district this afternoon. Reports reaching GNS said that a bike rider identified as Adil Ahmad Dar, son of Ab. Ahad Dar, a resident of Haritar village of Sopore, lost control over the motorcycle, he was riding, resulting in the on-spot death of the youth. Moreover, the dead body of the deceased has been brought to CHC Sumbal for the completion of medico-legal formalities. ONGC Helicopter makes emergency landing in Mumbai, 6 Rescued So Far

A helicopter carrying seven passengers and two pilots made an emergency today, landing in the Arabian Sea near the Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) rig at Sagar Kiran in Mumbai High, the company said in a tweet. Six people have been rescued so far and further operations are underway, it said. Four persons were rescued by ONGC’s vessel Malviya-16 and the fifth by ONGC rig Sagar Kiran’s rescue boat. Details on others are awaited. The circumstances that led to the emergency landing were not immediately clear. Other details too were awaited. (Agencies)
