The principal of a college in Gujarat’s Bhavnagar had resigned after facing backlash for asking students to join the Bharatiya Janata Party. The notices by Rajnibala Gohil, the in-charge principal of Shreemati Narmadabai Chatrabhuj Gandhi Mahila College in Gujrat asking students to enroll themselves with the BJP went viral on social media after which the college administration said she had resigned. Jammu and Kashmir police on Tuesday claimed to have solved blast cases in Kotranka and Budhal areas of Rajouri that took place in the month of March and April this year, injuring at least four persons. According to a statement, issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), police said that two suspects, involved in these cases, have been arrested while the mastermind behind these blasts is on the run. Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) is pulling out all the stops to ensure smooth pilgrimage, scheduled to begin on June 30, to the holy cave shrine housing the naturally formed ice-lingam in south Kashmir Himalayas. Jammu Kashmir administration is also augmenting the efforts of the Shrine Board by providing fool proof security cover along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes to the holy cave, a senior official said. A massive fire broke out in a residential house at Shahi Hamdan Colony, Umarabad HMT area in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. An official from the fire and emergency department told GNS that a fire broke out in a double-storeyed residential house at Shahi Hamdan Colony, lane number 2, HMT Srinagar. Soon after the incident, the fire tenders were rushed to the area to douse the flames, he said. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, the official said, adding there were no reports of any loss of life or injury reported so far. (GNS)

The Delhi Police had filed two cases against the Alt News co-founder in September 2020 under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act for allegedly harassing and torturing a minor girl.
