Minor Killed in Suspected Leopard Attack in Handwara

A 4-year-old boy was killed in a suspected leopard attack in Monabal area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. An official told GNS that a child was lifted by some animal, presumed to be the family a leopard, while he was outside his home at Londa Monabal this evening. “On hearing the cries, the family alongside locals chased the animal, which left the child lifeless before escaping the scene”, the official said. The official identified the victim as Saqib Bhadana son of Bhaya Badhana. (GNS)

Three people were washed away in a flash flood amid heavy rainfall in Jammu Kashmir’s Kathua district on Sunday, officials said. The three were washed away in the district’s Tarnah nallah, they said, adding that rescue operations have been started. Amarnath Yatri suffers heart attack before boarding a flight at Srinagar Airport

A pilgrim from Bihar before boarding a flight at Srinagar Airport suffered a heart attack and died in the hospital subsequently. Police source told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a 47-year-old yatri was about to board a flight at Srinagar Airport after performing Amarnath pilgrimage. He suddenly fell unconscious and was taken to Srinagar’s SMHS Hospital for treatment. The said pilgrim died in the hospital. Police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a Hybrid militant of the Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit in the Ashtingo area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district. A top police officer told GNS that a hybrid LeT militant was apprehended by a joint team of Police and the army's 26 Assam Rifles.
