Urmila Matondkar feels ‘lucky’ to be married to a Kashmiri

Bollywood veteran actor, Urmila Matondkar praised Kashmir during a reality show stating that she is lucky to be married to a person who belongs to a heavenly place like Kashmir. "The act truly made me nostalgic and made me feel so lucky to have my husband in my life. To be honest, I am married to a person who belongs to the most heavenly place in this world - Kashmir. I still remember, before marriage, I used to roam almost everywhere, both nationally as well as internationally, but I never visited Kashmir," she said. "In fact, after my marriage, I went to Kashmir for the first time, and was really amazed and mesmerised to see the real Jannat on this earth with my better half. I wished I had gone earlier, but I guess it was destiny," Urmila said during a reality show.

Journalist Assault Case: Four Persons Arrested in Srinagar

In a swift action, police on Sunday arrested four people in connection with thrashing a journalist in central Kashmir's Srinagar district. In a handout issued to GNS, the police said that yesterday night, Shabraiz Bashir son of late Bashir Ahmad Party resident of Hamdanya colony Bemina, correspondent with the News Now, lodged a written complaint to the effect that on 23/07/2022 he was thrashed by four unknown persons in Bemina Chowk who fled away from the spot in a white Swift vehicle. Leopard sighting triggers panic in Bandipora areas

Panic gripped the densely populated twin including Nesbal and Madwan villages of north Kashmir's Bandipora district on Sunday after two leopards were sighted. Four persons dead in road accident in Ramban

Two more people have succumbed to their injuries, who were injured in a road accident that took place in Ramsoo area of Ramban district on Sunday afternoon, taking the toll to four, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a Scorpio, carrying a marriage party, plunged into a gorge in Ramsoo area today afternoon. Sopore area without drinking water supply for past four years, locals aghast

Shabir Khan Residents of Rahmania colony in Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Sunday protested against the Public Health Engineering (water supply Department) for failing to provide water supply to the area. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the locals said that they have been complaining to several officials for the past four years, but their demands have fallen on deaf years during this period. "We have protested innumerable times demanding water in the area, however, the officials have failed to provide water supply in the area forcing the residents to walk for several kilometers to fetch water," a local resident said. The locals demanded an immediate official intervention so that their demands are resolved at the earliest.

Court denies interim bail to Sharjeel Imam

A Delhi court on Saturday denied interim bail to former JNU student Sharjeel Imam in a case related to an alleged conspiracy behind the 2020 northeast Delhi riots. Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat rejected the bail plea noting there was not sufficient ground to grant the relief. During the hearing, Imam’s counsel Ahmad Ibrahim told the court that the accused met the conditions for bail and he was not a flight risk, nor at the risk of influencing witnesses or tampering with the evidence. Also, Imam did not make a conscious call for inciting violent activities, the counsel said. Man dies mysteriously during marriage ceremony in Poonch

A man died under mysterious conditions during a marriage ceremony in Kamsar village of Poonch district, officials said here on Sunday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man identified as Mohammad Bashir son of Late Mohammad Akram of Mandi Poonch received electric shock mysteriously during a marriage ceremony. BSF jawan injured after being hit by bus in Kangan

A BSF jawan was injured after he was hit by a bus in Mamar locality of Kangan in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district on Sunday morning.
