Anjuman Auqaf Jama Masjid said that the Wakf board has in its reply received today, conveyed its inability to facilitate prayers citing rainy weather forecast, saying Muslims should offer prayers at their local Masjids instead. “Later in the day Anjuman members were called by government authorities and told that as Wakf had declined prayer facilitation at Idgah, if Auqaf wants to conduct the prayers at Jamia Masjid Srinagar instead, it can be only allowed at the central Jama Masjid if held before 6.30 am and not after that,” a statement said. In a shocking incident, a man has been allegedly burnt alive as a punishment by a village Kangaroo Court in Assam`s Nagaon district, ANI reported. Bodies of two minor girls recovered day after drowning in Poonch

The Bodies of two minor girls, who drowned while taking a bath in the Mandheri River near Dhaki Bridge in the Poonch district, were recovered on Sunday. The girls along with a 9-year-old boy had drowned in the river yesterday evening. However, rescuers were able to evacuate the boy, Azhar, in time. After hectic efforts bodies of two girls, Rifat Bi daughter of Sarfaraz and Aliya Bi daughter of Liyaqat Khan were recovered by the rescuers comprising policemen, civilians, and army personnel. Amarnath Cloudburst: Sixteen bodies recovered so far, 7 identified

Ganderbal, (KNO): At least 16 bodies were recovered from the lower Amarnath cave where a cloudburst incident took place on Friday evening while the authorities said that only seven bodies have been identified so far. Officials while divulging the details to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), said that several people are still missing while the rescue operation is going on to track them. The officials said that 56 persons have suffered injuries in the incident and 40 among them have received minor injuries and 16 have been airlifted to SKIMS hospital for specialized treatment. Karnataka bans slaughter of cows on Eid ul Adha

The Karnataka government has directed the authorities concerned to ensure that cows are not slaughtered in the state on Bakrid which falls on Saturday. No cow, calf, ox, buffalo, or camel can be killed during the festival, it said. To ensure its implementation, helplines and task forces have been set up to monitor and lodge FIRs if needed. Through these helplines, people can complain about instances of violations, including the transportation of cows. Bakrid celebrations will begin on Saturday and culminate on Sunday evening. Srinagar, (KNO): The Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board on Saturday said that Eid prayers will not be allowed at Eidgah Srinagar as the request for the same was received late. An official of the J&K Waqf Board told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that there is a weather forecast of a heavy downpour for the coming few days and it would not be possible for the Waqf to make requisite arrangements.
