Ahead of Eid-Ul-Adha, camels have once again been put on sale in Kashmir. Talking with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) Mushtaq Ahmad from Srigufwara in Anantnag said that he brought a camel for Rs 1.3 lakh from Rajasthan. According to him, it was his dream to sacrifice a camel on Eid and this year his dream has come true. Many dealers said that though the sacrifice of camels in Kashmir is very rare, the trend is increasing and more people are opting for camels instead of sheep and goats. Police seek help to trace missing Shopian man

Meer Irfan Jammu Kashmir Police on Wednesday sought the help of people in tracing a 60-year-old man missing from his home in Bonbazar Shopian since morning. According to a report lodged by his family at Shopian Police Station, Ab Gani Bhat S/O Qadir Bhar (60) left from his home in bonbazar Shopian this morning around 7:00 am and did not return till now. As per family, who spoke to The Kashmiriyat, the 60 year old was wearing a white Khan dress, half sleeve white jacket and a white skull cap. 4-year boy mauled to death by leopard in Handwara

A Four year old boy was mauled to death by a leopard in Rajpora Village of Handwara in North Kashmir. Reports reaching to Kashmir News Service (KNS), said that, the victim identified as Mehraz Azad Mir was at maternal uncle's home in Rajpora village, when he was attacked by leopard and mauled to death. The leopard dragged the boy to a nearby forest and his body was retrieved from the forest this evening by locals. Police confirmed the death of the boy in the leopard attack.(KNS)

Court finally allows Safoora Zargar to visit home on Eid ul Adha

A Delhi Court has allowed Jamia Millia Islamia scholar and activist Safoora Zargar, an accused in the alleged larger conspiracy case behind the northeast Delhi riots, to visit her hometown in Kashmir’s Kishtwar for Eid-ul-Adha. Granting permission to leave the capital city where she is currently staying, Additional Sessions Judge Naveen Gupta directed the applicant to furnish the itinerary of her visit to the investigating officer through official email. 35-year-young muslim faith healer shot dead by unknown gunmen in Maharashtra

A 35-year-old spiritual muslim leader was shot dead by a group of four unidentified persons in Yeola town of Maharashtra’s Nashik district on Tuesday, police said. A possible motive behind the murder was not immediately known. The incident took place in the evening at an open plot in the MIDC area of Yeola town, around 200km from Mumbai, the police said. The deceased, identified as Khwaja Sayyad Chishti, was popularly known as ‘Sufi Baba’ in Yeola, an official said. He was shot with a firearm in the forehead by the attackers, following which he died on the spot, the official said. Newborn Baby Found Dead at Larnoo Anantnag

Ishfaq Wagay Anantnag: In a shocking incident, a newborn baby was found dead in the Larnoo area of Anantnag on Wednesday, an official probing the matter, told the Kashmiriyat. An official said that a newborn female baby was found floating in a lake at Bidhard Larnoo. Soon after receiving information from some locals, the body was fished out and taken to a nearby hospital (PHC Larnoo) by Larnoo police, where doctors declared her dead on arrival. Meanwhile, police station Larnoo has taken cognizance of the incident and handed over the body to locals for last rights.

Srinagar, (GNS): At least seven persons were injured after a vehicle they were on board fell into a gorge near Tulbagh Kharpora along the Srinagar-Jammu highway in the Banihal area of Ramban district this morning. Local sources told GNS that a Tavera vehicle bearing registration number JK01AP 5877 en route to Srinagar from Jammu skidded off the road near Tulbagh Kharpora (MS 187.1), purportedly due to overspeeding, and fell into a gorge, resulting in injuries to seven persons.
