New Delhi: After former JNU student Sharjeel Imam filed a plea in Delhi court alleging assault in the Tihar jail where he is lodged in an alleged conspiracy behind the 2020 Northeast Delhi riots, prison officials on Tuesday said they will "enquire into his allegation". Imam, on Monday, moved a Delhi court alleging harassment and assault by Tihar Jail officials. He, through his lawyer Ahmad Ibrahim, alleged that the Assistant Superintendent of Tihar Jail along with 8-9 convicts had entered his cell in the garb of a search assaulted him, and called him a terrorist and anti-national. Four family members were among six people who were injured in a leopard attack at Kreeri village of Dooru in South Kashmir's Anantnag in the last twenty four hours, officials said here on Tuesday. A non-local woman was hanged to death by her husband in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district late last night, officials said here on Tuesday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the woman who was putting up in a tent with her husband on the banks of Doodganga River in Chadoora was found dead today morning. He said that the couple allegedly had a fight overnight and the woman’s husband, who is now absconding, hanged her to death. SpiceJet SG-11 flight from Delhi to Dubai makes an emergency landing in Karachi (Pakistan) after developing a technical fault, ANI reported. SpiceJet Spokesperson told ANI that Spicejet B737 aircraft operating flight SG-11 (Delhi-Dubai) was diverted to Karachi due to an indicator light malfunctioning. The spokesperson said that “The aircraft landed safely in Karachi and passengers were safely disembarked.” “No emergency was declared & aircraft made a normal landing. There was no earlier report of any malfunction with the aircraft. Passengers have been served refreshments,” he told ANI. He further said that A replacement aircraft is being sent to Karachi that will take the passengers to Dubai.
