The Union government under Prime minister Narendra Modi has reduced the amount for the minority welfare. This was disclosed by the Union minister for minority affairs Smriti Irani in Parliament on Thursday. In a written reply, Smriti Irani stated that the government has decreased the money allotted for numerous minority-focused programmes between 2019–20 and 2021–2022. The number of beneficiaries under most schemes launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs has declined since 2019-20, she added, Between 2019–20 and 2021–22, some schemes received more funding than others, but fewer people benefited from them, she noted. He stated that due to emissions from half a dozen cement plants in Khrew- Wuyan, air pollution in the area has reached menacing proportions. The pollution has adversely impacted agriculture, saffron and horticulture production in the area, Masoodi stated. As per the sources, alleging that a cow was slaughtered on Eid, the villagers had staged a sit-in since July 21 demanding action against the accused. A trooper was detained at the Srinagar International Airport on Friday after airport security recovered two live rounds from his baggage. An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that during screening at the drop gate of the Srinagar International Airport, two live rounds of INSAS rifle were recovered from the baggage of Vijay Pal of Assam rifles (AR) who was proceeding on leave from Srinagar to Delhi. A MIG 21 plane of the Indian Airforce crashed in Rajasthan's Barmer on Thursday evening leading to the death of two pilots. According to media reports, at 9:10 pm on Thursday evening, an IAF MiG 21 trainer aircraft met with an accident in the western sector during a training sortie causing fatal injuries to both pilots. The injured pilots succumbed to their injuries after which the IAF expressed regret over the loss of lives and said it stands firmly with the bereaved families. A Court of Inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident, the Indian Air Force has said.
