Cyber Police Kashmir Zone have arrested two Nigerian fraudsters from New Delhi involved in duping a man from Baramulla of Rs 36.35 lacs in an online scam. “Police received a written application from a resident of Baramulla alleging therein that while surfing Facebook, he came in contact with some unknown fake Facebook user T.Jessica, who impersonated as a purchase manager of a renowned pharmaceutical company Abbott,” a police spokesperson said in a statement to GNS. “The lady enticed the complainant through Facebook messages that she has been promoted as Secretary in the company and eventually asked the complainant to start a business of (Kandu Nut/Palm Seeds/Sea Nuts).” The complainant, he said, was convinced/motivated by using fake offers, orders, high returns and emails etc to pur...

The Minister of State for Home Affairs on Wednesday informed the Parliament that statehood to Jammu and Kashmir would be granted at an appropriate time. Divisional Commissioner Kashmir P K Pole on Wednesday said that Muharram processions will be allowed only on permitted routes, which have been already notified by the authorities. Talking to reporters at Budgam, Pole, as per the news agency Kashmir News Observer said that decisions regarding Muharram processions have been taken at the appropriate level. “Muharram processions will be allowed only on the already permitted routes. All the concerned have also been requested to hold processions through those routes only,” he added. Mustafa-Ibn-Jameel, who is a resident of the Bandipora district in north Kashmir has created a world record by writing the Holy Quran on a 500-meter scroll. Mustafa-Ibn-Jameel, who is 27 years old took seven months to finish the writing and set this record. According to a news report, Mustafa initially started calligraphy to improve his handwriting and with time he wrote Quran on paper for 18 hours in a day. The Lincoln Book of Records has rewarded Mustafa and said he has written the Quran on 14.5 inches wide and 500 meters long paper. "While learning calligraphy, I used to make signature and write verses from Quran. Then I thought I should write the entire Quran," he said. Mustafa is been congratulated by people all over the social media.

5 Persons Injured As 2 Cars Collide Along Highway in Kupwara At least five persons were injured after two vehicles collided along Kupwara-Sopore highway at Awatkul of Natnussa in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district this morning.
