Srinagar, Aug 05 (KNO): At least 284 persons including 174 Security forces personnel and 110 civilians were killed in militancy related incidents in Kashmir Valley since 05 August 2019, police said on the eve of third anniversary of abrogation of Article 370. "From August 5, 2016, to August 4, 2019, 3,686 law and order incidents have been recorded in the Valley while since August 5, 2019, to August 4, 2022, the number of such incidents has come down significantly to 438, police said, as per the news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO). Father of two month old boy killed in ‘crossfire’ during Kulgam encounter

Speaking to The Kashmiriyat the family of Manzoor Ahmed Lone, son of Mohammed Abdullah Lone aged 32 who was a resident of the Redwani area in Kulgam said that Manzoor received a bullet injury during the encounter that broke out in Kulgam's Redwani area on Friday morning. Five year old girl Palestinian girl among 15 killed as Israel launches air strikes in Gaza

The Israeli military said Friday it launched air strikes on Gaza, which were witnessed by Palestinians in central Gaza City, resulting in the death of fifteen people. Those killed in the Airstrikes included an eight-year-old Palestinian girl. "The IDF (Israeli military) is currently striking in the Gaza Strip. A special situation has been declared on the Israeli home front," a statement from Israel said. Security sources in the Palestinian enclave said there were air strikes in several parts of the territory, AFP reported. Steel bridge collapses after dumper passed over it in central Kashmir

Scores of villages were disconnected from the district headquarters of Central Kashmir’s Budgam after a steel bridge connecting these villages over Nallah Sukhnag in Narbal collapsed when a sand-laden dumper passed through it. Local sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that the bridge didn’t bear the weight of the dumper and it collapsed. The dumper turned turtle and plunged into the nallah. Sources added that no one was injured in the mishap. The bridge as per locals was not meant for heavy motor vehicles. The villages like Gagarpora, Yarigund, Gotpora, Wadwan, Cherpora etc were completely disconnected from the district headquarters. DAK seeks monkey pox testing facility at GMC Srinagar

Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday has sought monkeypox testing facility at Government Medical College (GMC) Srinagar of Kashmir valley. “That would help in quicker testing of suspected monkeypox virus samples and hasten detection of cases,” said DAK President and influenza expert Dr Nisar ul Hassan.
