Unemployment in Jammu Kashmir reaches another high, Crosses 20 per cent yet again

Unemployment in Jammu Kashmir has reached another high as it has mounted to 20.2 which is the second highest after Haryana with an unemployment rate of 26.9 per cent. Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has pegged India’s unemployment rate at 7.1 per cent, while Jammu Kashmir has an unemployment rate of 20.2 per cent for the month of July against 17.2 per cent in the month of June. The CMIE data reveals that the unemployment rate has been steadily rising in the reion. In November 2016 the unemployment rate was 29.9 percent while in March the unemployment was recorded at 25 per cent. Handwara village without drinking water from decades, seek redressal

The residents of Hamlapati Rajwar area of Handwara Tehsil in North Kashmir's Kupwara district are up in arms against the department of Jal Shakti, who according to them are badly suffering for the portable drinking water from at least two decade, but the concerned department are in deep slumber. Surankote residents continue protest for 2nd consecutive day

The residents of Surankote on Poonch district on Thursday continued their protest for second consecutive day to demand the recent flash flood in the town be declared as natural calamity and provide compensation to the victims. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq completed three years in detention, on Thursday, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) released a statement condemning it's chairman's detention. The APHC said that "its chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq today completed three years of continuous house detention under which the authorities placed him on the 4th of August 2019, when J&K was downgraded to a UT of India and its special status revoked." Body of non-local found in Budgam’s Chadoora

Budgam, Aug 04 (KNO): A non-local was found dead under mysterious circumstances under a bridge in Chadoora area of Central Kashmir's Budgam district on Thursday. Ahead of August 15, IB issues alert for Delhi Police of attack from Lashkar, JeM

India's Intelligence Bureau has issued a strict alert to Delhi Police about the strong possibility of attack on 15th August, India Today reported. A 10-page report by the IB says there is a threat from LeT, JeM and other radical groups who might attack the red fort in New Delhi on august 15 with the help of ISI. It has directed Delhi Police to put in place strict entry rules at Red Fort ahead of Independence Day on August 15. The report mentions an attack on former Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe, and incidents in Udaipur and Amravati. IB has instructed Delhi Police to remain alert. Two persons mob lynched to death allegedly for cattle smuggling, One in MP, another in Bihar

According to reports, A mob attacked three persons, residents of Amravati in Maharashtra on the suspicion of transporting cows. Police have registered a case of murder against unknown people. Police arrest two for dumping hotel waste into water body at Sonmarg

Police have registered a case and arrested two persons for throwing hotel waste into Nallha Sindh in Sonmarg area of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district. Reliable sources told news agency Kashmir News Trust that a Tata Mobile owned by a private contractor was seen dumpling waste into the Nallah Sindh despite the availability of dumping site at Sarbal Sonmarg. They said that police took strong note of the violation and arrested two persons in this connection. Police also seized the Tate Mobile used to carry waste from different hotels.
