Jammu Kashmir Waqf Board chairperson, Darakshan Andrabi on Saturday said that donation boxes of “salesmen” have been removed from shrines and some people are trying to play politics over it. "I have not got any love and respect in Hinduism as an old relative gets on his return to home," he said in the 12-minute video. Unemployment rate in Jammu Kashmir reaches record breaking numbers; highest in several years

The unemployment rate in Jammu Kashmir has severed past 30 percent in the month of August, which is the highest in the last several years. Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy (CMIE) has pegged Jammu Kashmir's employment rate at 32.8 percent marking a spike of nearly 12 percent against the month of July when the Unemployment rate had gone up to 20. 2  percent. The monthly figures of the unemployment rate maintained by CMIE since 2016 show that in January 2016 the unemployment rate stood at 12.3 per cent. Noted journalist Muzamil Jaleel bereaved, mother passes away

Bandipora, Sept 03 (KNO): Mehmooda Fazli wife of late Atta Mohammad Zia and mother of noted journalist Muzamil Jaleel passed away on Saturday at her native village Gamroo in North Kashmir's Bandipora district. A family member told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Mehmooda left for heavenly abode at around 03:00 AM and her Nimaz-e-Janaza will be held at 11:30 am today. Police on Friday claimed to have arrested a hybrid militant of Lashkar-i-Toiba outfit in north Kashmir’s Sopore. Driver Killed in Anantnag Road Mishap

Driver of a vehicle was killed in a fatal road mishap at Larnoo area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday evening. Reports reaching GNS said that a vehicle driven by one Ghulam Rasool Deka son of Sonuallaha Deka, resident of Dessu Daksum met with an accident at Gawran in Larnoo, resulting in critical injuries to the driver. The driver was taken to a nearby health facility from where he was referred to GMC Anantnag, however he succumbed on way to the hospital. Man ends life in Police lock-up in Rajouri

A man committed suicide by hanging himself inside a police lock-up in Rajouri district on Friday morning, official sources said. Identifying him as Abdul Majid of Parghal Darhal, they told GNS the individual was in custody on a police remand. Confirming it, SSP Rajouri Mohammad Aslam told GNS that an investigation has been launched to collect necessary details into the incident. “Once the things become clear, we will share them accordingly”, he further said.
