Union Minister of State (MoS) for Commerce and Industry, Anupriya Patel on Wednesday said that four new industrial estates will come up in Jammu Kashmir with an aim to ensure employment to the youth in the Union Territory. The Deputy Commissioner of Jammu has withdrawn the notification which authorised all tehsildars to issue certificates of residence to people residing in Jammu "for more than one year. This comes a day after the Jammu administration on Tuesday issued an order authorising all tehsildars to issue a certificate of residence to people residing in the district for more than one year. The purpose of the certificate of residence was to ensure that no eligible voter is left for registration in the ongoing special summary revision of electoral rolls. Father of three daughters dies of electric shock in Anantnag

Suhail Dar A 40-year-old man died of an electric shock at his home in the Brah Ranipora area of Shangus in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Family members speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that on Wednesday morning, Abdul Majeed Wagay received an electric shock inside the washroom of his house and fell unconscious. "Nobody was inside the home when he received the shock. When the family members came to the house he had already passed away," they said. A carpenter by profession, Majeed is survived by three daughters and a son, the eldest being a 13-year-old girl. The Locals gathered in large numbers to attend the funeral of the deceased and asked the local admin to compensate the family that is left with no bread-earner now.
