The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on Monday alleged that even three years after the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution in August 2019, the Centre’s “oppressive and punitive” measures in Jammu and Kashmir do not see an end. Srinagar-based organization distributes wedding essentials among ‘downtrodden’ girls

Srinagar-based organization today distributed various marriage-related items to girls at a function held in the Kanihama Magam area on Srinagar-Gulmarg road. The function was held by a non-governmental organization ‘Noor-ul-Hudah Welfare Foundation which runs from Kaksarai Srinagar. Bullet-ridden body of Army trooper found in north Kashmir army camp

A soldier allegedly committed suicide in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Monday. Official sources said that bullet-ridden body of a soldier was found in a pool of blood in the washroom in Boniyar Uri, where the deceased soldier was posted. The slain soldier has been identified as Rahul Bhagat son of Anand Bhagat of Maharashtra. Sources added that the cause of the death of the soldier is still unknown and it is not clear whether the soldier has committed suicide with his service rifle or had become the prey of accidental fire. A school bus and at least 100 apple boxes were gutted in a fire incident in Haril Mawar area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district last night, official sources said on Monday. They said that the bus (JK09-9791) of New Millennium Public School Handwara, parked on a roadside open area in Darbal village of Haril Mawer, was completely gutted in the fire incident. They said that there were at least 100 apple boxes, stacked nearby; belonging to one Mohammad Jamal Sheikh, were also gutted in the fire incident. There was no injury or loss of life reported in the incident, they said.
