DDC members Inaugurate three water schemes in Achabal area

Suhail Dar The Public Health Engineering Department of Jammu Kashmir inaugurated three new water schemes for the south Kashmir district, bringing huge respite to the residents. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, Zameer Ahmed Raina, Executive Engineer PHE said that three new schemes were laid in the Anantnag district which included schemes for Kadpora village (at cost of 30 Lakh rupees), Hardtoouru village, and for the Gopalpora Kalan village. "The villages had been suffering immensely due to the lack of potable water. The water schemes are expected to bring huge respite to the local residents," he said. Burglars steal 50,000 from Computer shop in Anantnag

Sheikh Nadeem Burglars broke the twin locks of a computer shop in Ara Koshipora area of Anantnag district in south Kashmir and decamped with the cash of 50,000 rupees and a CCTV Camera. Locals speaking to The Kashmiriyat said that on Friday morning they spotted a shop Hilal Computers opened in the morning after which they contacted the shop owner regarding the matter who rushed to his shop. The owner said that two locks of the shop were broken by the burglars who also decamped with cash amount of 50,000 and CCTV Camera that was installed inside shop. The shop owner rushed to the Concerned Police station to register a case in this regard, they told The Kashmiriyat. Days after a prisoner died after ‘falling down stairs at sub-jail building’ Kupwara, the bereaved family on Thursday alleged the jail authorities of putting forth a cooked-up story, saying given the nature of injuries it seems the inmate ‘never fell’ and instead been hit on the head by some sharp object. Atleast 25 houses were gutted in a devastating fire in Gandhari Padder area of Kishtwar district of Jammu division on intervening night of thrusday-Friday. Confirming the incident, SSP Kishtwar Shafqat Hussain Bhat told GNS that a joint team of Police, army and locals are on job to douse off the fire. However in this incident no loss of life or injury has been reported so far. Cause of fire is being ascertained, the officer added. The Jammu Kashmir Police said that a militant poster surfaced on the gate of Municipal Committee Bari Brahmana in Samba area of Jammu division. An official said a passer-by informed police about the poster pasted allegedly by the militant organisation Jammu Kashmir Gaznabi Force on the entry gate of Municipal Park Bari Brahmana. “The message on the poster was to observe Black Day on accession day of Jammu Kashmir with India, which the present regime recognized and granted a holiday on October 26,” the official said. During the fourth phase, a local Non-Government Organization (NGO), ‘We the helping hands’ have organized the marriage ceremony of 31 couples in Srinagar on Thursday, achieving the target of solemnising the marriage of 150 couples this year. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Umar Wani, Chairman of the NGO, said that in the mass marriage today, at least 31 couples from different areas of Kashmir tied a nuptial knot. “We had set a target of solemnising the marriage of 150 couples this year.
