Director of Meteorological Department Sonam Lotus said that light to Moderate Rain/Snowfall over the plains and higher reaches of JK is very likely at many places of JK, and predictability chances are 75%. As per the Kashmir Weather, mostly dry weather is expected till 31 October, however, a Western Disturbance may cause light rain/snow activities in JK on 31st night and 01 November. Thereafter, between 05 and 10 November, there are chances of moderate rain/snow activities as back-to-back WDs will continue to affect JK. The residents of Choudharygund said the recent attacks have triggered a fear psychosis among the Pandits who lived in Kashmir through the most difficult period of 1990s and did not leave their homes. Five residential houses were damaged in a fire incident in Tanki mohalla near Jamia masjid area of Srinagar district on Tuesday evening. Official sources told Kashmir News Apex- (KNA) said that five residential houses belonging to Ghulam Qadir Bazaz, Ghulam Mohammad Gonri, Mohd Ayub, Abdul Guffar, Bashir Ahmad Teli were partially damaged in a fire incident that broke out in Tanki Mohalla this evening. They said that F&ES with the help of police and locals doused off the flames to prevent any further damages. 37-year-old prisoner dies in Kupwara district jail

A 37-year-old jail inmate died after ‘falling from a sub-jail building’ in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district this afternoon, officials said. Identifying the deceased as one Mohammad Yousuf Bhat son of Abdul Aziz Bhat, a resident of Prangroo Mawer Handwara, the officials said that the person was evacuated to SDH Kupwara where the doctors declared him as brought dead on arrival.
