Senior Resident Department of dentistry candidates at Government Medical College Baramulla Saturday accused the officials of resorting to favouritism and nepotism by appointing blue eyed senior residents in the hospital against the norms. Reportedly, a blue-eyed candidate has been appointed as senior resident for the 4th time straight away without giving a chance to other candidates with higher qualifications. Abandoned school buildings in Gudoora and Tral areas of South Kashmir's Pulwama district have become a hub of drug addicts with residents of these areas demanding attention of higher ups. 106 Drug peddlers booked under PIT- NDPS: Admin

In order to curb drug menace in Kashmir Division, the Divisional Administration Kashmir today said that 106 detention orders have been issued till today during the current year under Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic drugs and Psychotropic Substance Act, 1988, (PIT-NDPS). According to the statement issued by Divisional Commissioner's Office, 23 detention orders under PIT-NDPS were issued in Srinagar, 10 in Budgam, 01 in Ganderbal, 04 Anantnag, 08 Kulgam, 13 Pulwama, 04 in Shopian, 15 in Baramulla, 04 Bandipora and 24 in Kupwara. The Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Pandurang K Pole had earlier directed District Administrations to take strict actions against those who are involved in the illicit trafficking of drugs and are repetitive offenders.

Israel launched a missile attack around Damascus city, the Syrian military said in a statement on Saturday. Unidentified female body recovered from Jhelum in Srinagar

An unidentified female body was recovered from Jhelum at Gassi Mohalla in Sada Kadal area of Srinagar. Official sources told news wire Kashmir News Apex-(KNA) that te body was seen floating by some locals in the river at Gassi Mohalla who accordingly informed the concerned police about it.
