District Admin Kupwara Issues Advisory Ahead of Anticipated Weather Vagaries

In view of prediction by Meteorological Department for widespread snowfall/rainfall spell of moderate intensity during 19 to 21of this month, the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray on Saturday issued an advisory for the people of the district in general and the people residing in the areas like Keran, Karnah, Machil, Budnamal, Jumgumd, Nowgam, Kumkadi and on the periphery of different Nallahs/rivers prone to floods, sloppy areas of the district in particular. Director Education Dr Tasaduq Hussain Mir Saturday said that parents have to pay tuition fees to private schools for winters as these schools have to pay salaries to private teachers. Army on Saturday claimed to have foiled an infiltration bid along Line of Control in Rajouri district. It claimed one infiltrator has been killed so far while the operation was going on near Kalal area in Naushera sector. A defence ministry spokesperson based in Jammu confirmed to GNS the killing of the one infiltrator. "On the intervening night of 17/18 November 2022 at approximately 2300 hours, an Infiltration bid was foiled in Naushera sector(J&K), wherein a (militant) was killed while he tried to negotiate our minefield." Meteorological department here on Saturday forecast isolated to scattered light rain and snow in Jammu Kashmir during next 24 hours. An official of the weather department here told GNS that mainly dry weather was expected thereafter till November 26. The MeT office has already ruled out the possibility of major snowfall till the end of this month.
