The Muttahida Ulama Ahle Sunnat has appealed to the government to release renowned cleric Maulana Abdul Rashid Dawoodi and others from detention. In a statement to news agency Kashmir News Trust Muttahida Ulama Ahle Sunnat Jammu Kashmir has said that those clerics who have been languishing in jails should be released as they always stood for the prosperity, peace and order in Jammu Kashmir. The statement said that the religious and social activities of these incarcerated clerics are in accordance with the legal framework. Class 8 student allegedly hangs self to death in Baramulla’s Boniyar

A class 8th student has allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself in Boniyar area of Uri in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the boy hanged himself to death at his residence at Bimyar village of Boniyar today. He said soon after the incident, the boy was rushed to SDH Boniyar where doctors declared him dead on arrival. DSEK proposes winter vacations for Kashmir schools in phased manner from Dec 1 to 10

The School Education Department Kashmir has proposed winter vacations in a phased manner from the first week of December for winter zone of Kashmir division. Official sources informed the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that DSEK has forwarded a proposal to government for approval in this regard.
