The Jammu Kashmir's Power Development Department (PDD) has issued a curtailment schedule for District Srinagar with effect from 15th November 2022. "The schedule for metered as well as non-metered feeders within the jurisdiction of District Srinagar with effect from 15th November 2022. You are requested to give wide publicity to the curtailment schedule through print media for information of general public," read an order accessed by The Kashmiriyat. The metered areas will face curtailment of electricity for one and a half hours in the morning, afternoon, and evening each. A Kashmiri scientist Dr. Asif Hassan Sofi has been awarded the prestigious ISSGPU Mid-Career Scientist Award for 2022. Asif posted at the Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology of Kashmir has published 80 research papers and has received 18 awards. He is a member of the Bureau of Indian Standards (TXD04 Committee) and a Geographical Indication Registry expert member. The Indian Society of Sheep and Goat Production and Utilization (ISSGPU) presented the award to Asif, who works as an Associate Professor Division of Livestock Products Technology, Faculty of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, recently during the 43rd National Seminar cum Annual Conference at ICAR-Central Sheep and Wool Research Institute Avikanagar, Rajasthan.

The School Education Department Sunday said that there were no plans or proposals of winter vacations in Kashmir for now.
