Dozens of ‘Permanent Daily Labourers’ [PDL] working in the Power Development Department in Kashmir Valley Friday alleged that they have been posted in far off Sub-Divisions as a result they face a lot of problems. At least 31 PDL posted in Kunzar falling under Sub-Division Tangmarg have been asked to join field duties in Baramulla and Kupwara Sub-Divisions. “We hail from different areas of sub-division Tangmarg but are posted in far-off places. Whatever we earn gets lost in bus fare. This is injustice towards us,” they said. These daily rated employees manage maintenance work in the field and get Rs 9,000 per month. The Palestinian Health Ministry said a Palestinian was killed by Israeli forces in Jenin's northern West Bank city. On Wednesday, the Health Ministry added that 29-year-old Rafat Al-Eissa died of the severe injuries he had from Israeli soldiers, without elaborating further details. The Supreme Court on Friday dismissed an appeal filed by the Jammu Kashmir administration against an order of the National Human Rights Commission to pay compensation of Rs 3 lakh each to the kin of 10 children who died in the Udhampur district due to the consumption of spurious cough syrup. The Endangered royal stag, popularly known as the Hangul, has shown a gradual increase in its population and fresh survey in this regard is being carried out through genetic methods. The International Union for Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red Data Book which contains lists of species at risk of extinction has declared the Hangul as one of three species that were critically endangered in JK. The other two are the Markhor and the Tibetan antelope or ‘Chiru’. Panic spread in the Pahoo area of south Kashmir's Pulwama district when the locals spotted wild boars late on Thursday night. Additional Director General of Police Kashmir Vijay Kumar on Friday said that foreign JeM militant Kamran has been killed in a gunfight at Kaprin area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district.
