The government upper primary school in Shajan area of Tral in southern Kashmir's Pulwama district has no building to accommodate its students. The madrassas came under government scanner after a few teachers were arrested for alleged terror links. An acute shortage of hoppers has affected the smooth sanitation process in Sopore town as the Municipal Council (MC) Sopore has only seven hoppers for 21 wards. With the shortage of hoppers, the people have said that the heaps of garbage could be seen piling up in the town, causing immense hardships to them. Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Agriculture Production Department, Atal Dulloo on Wednesday took a district-wise review on the present status of the lumpy Skin disease. He elaborated on controlling measures being taken up like vaccination, use of medicines, procurement of vaccines, and sample collection for testing through a presentation. A Karnataka court on Wednesday quashed the petition submitted by the Malali Mosque management to dismiss the application demanding survey of the mosque. The Third Additional Civil Court hearing the case in its verdict also stated that the case could be tried in the civil court. The Malali mosque management committee had challenged a petition filed by the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and sought to quash it. A couple died of suffocation caused by gas leak in North Kashmir's Baramulla district, officials said here on Thursday.
