Kashmiri youth wins Silver medal at 31st National Wushu Championship

At least  1800 athletes from all over India participated in different categories of sports at the Indoor stadium Srinagar which had the privilege of hosting the event for the first ever time. Kamran Mohammad Shamas son of an Engineer Shamsdin Wani played for Jammu Kashmir and was participating in the 90+ category. He was confident as he had undergone rigorous training and practice and it paid off as he won Silver medal bringing laurels to his family, coaches and fans. Besides, Kamran has participated in multiple Wushu events held across India and is expecting to land at the international stage soon. An Army soldier died in an “accidental discharge of his own weapon” in Mankote sector of Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said. The traffic movement on Srinagar-Leh highway, which was suspended on Sunday after fresh snowfall at Zoji La, was restored for one way traffic on Tuesday morning.
