A female student in Sopore town of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district has accused a college professor of sexually harassing her even as a committee has been constituted to probe the allegations. Salma Ahad, principal of government degree college Sopore told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the student had Thursday lodged a complaint against a college professor for sexually harassing her. Kulgam residents demand widening of Bathipora-Manzgam road

Residents of Kulgam are demanding widening of vital Bathipora-Manzgam road causing inconvenience to commuters. Scholar-activist Anand Teltumbde, an accused in the Elgar Parishad-Maoist links case, was on Saturday released from the Taloja central prison in Navi Mumbai, a day after the Supreme Court rejected the National Investigation Agency's (NIA) plea challenging the bail granted to him, an official said. Teltumbde, 73, who spent two-and-a-half years behind bars in the case, walked out of the jail around 1.15 pm, he said. "On Friday, the top court had dismissed the NIA's plea challenging the Bombay High Court's order giving bail to Teltumbde. At least four cow sheds gutted in Anantnag fire incident

Suhail Dar At least four cowsheds were damaged in a massive blaze at the Tulbagh area of Shangus in south Kashmir's Anantnag district. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that during the intervening night of Friday and Saturday four cow-sheds belonging to Abdul Majeed Khan and Mohammed Rafiq Khan, sons of Mohammed Ayoub Khan, were gutted in a massive fire mishap. They said that fire tenders along with locals and Police tried to control the fire, however, when the fire was brought under control, dour sheds had been gutted.
