Police claimed to have arrested two extortionists, who were impersonating as militants to extract money from shopkeepers in central Kashmir’s Srinagar district. A 60-year-old man from Budgam was arrested on charges of sodomizing a minor boy in the central Kashmir district. A police spokesman in a statement said that on December 24 police Station Chadoora received a written complaint from parents of minor boy (aged about 15 years) that their son has been kidnapped by one Mohammad Sidiq Sheikh (age about 60 years) son of Ali Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Gogjipathri, Chadoora, a few days back and had been taken to Jammu where he committed an unnatural sexual offense upon him. The Union Territory’s Agriculture Production Department has set up different committees for undertaking GI tagging of 24 crops and products of Jammu & Kashmir.
