The Jammu Kashmir Police on Saturday said that militant recruitments in the Kashmir valley have shown a 37 percent decline compared to last year. He further claimed that "nobody was sheltering militants" and "parents want their wards to join Police not militants". “This year, 100 fresh recruitments into terrorist ranks were reported showing a decline of 37% compared to last year. Suhail Dar A man who was among the eight injured by a "drunk" man in the Aishmuqam area of Anantnag district on December 23 succumbed to his injuries on Saturday. An extension wall of the house of a Hizb-ul-Mujaddeen militant allegedly built on encroached government land in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district was demolished by authorities on Saturday, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the wall was demolished of the house of Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Amir Khan in Liver Pahalgam. A pedestrian was killed after hit by a Tavera driver at Kunzer Tangmarg area in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said. They told GNS that one Tawseef Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Ahmad Khan of Tarhama Kunzer was hit by a Tavera bearing registration number JK05C 6672, resulting in critical injuries to the individual.
