Minor among 4 of family injured in LPG cylinder blast in Srinagar

A minor boy among four members of a family suffered burn injuries after an LPG cylinder exploded in Aloochibagh area of Srinagar on Friday evening. Official sources told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that soon after the incident all the injured were rushed to SMHS hospital for treatment. He, however, added their condition was said to be stable. The injured have been identified as Aijaz Ahmad son of Nazir Ahmad Rather, Sahmeema wife of Nazir Ahmad Rather, Zainab Rather (10) daughter of Zahid Ahmad and Zuhaib Rather (07) son of Zahid Ahmad Rather. Established six decades ago, a government school in Anantnag's Khiram village is lacking proper infrastructure. As per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the Primary School set up in 1965 was upgraded to a middle school in 2003. Eighty students are admitted to the school in absence of proper infrastructure such as classrooms. Several parents complained that the existing building is unsafe and the school must be shifted to some safe structure. Several parents told KNO that they would have dropped out of their wards from the school but they are financially weak to bear the monthly fee at private schools. The Jammu Kashmir Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested a man for sexually assaulting a minor boy in Srinagar. An official told The Kashmiriyat that a minor boy was sexually assaulted by a man in the Gulshan Bagh area of Srinagar after which the parents of the minor filed a complaint at the Safa Kadal Police Station. In response to the complaint, one accused namely Wahid Ahmed Sofi of Gulshan Bagh, Srinagar was arrested. "One accused namely Wahid Sofi of Gulshan Bagh, #Srinagar arrested for an unnatural sexual offense with one minor boy ( name withheld).
