Government Medical College Srinagar and its associated SMHS hospital have successfully performed its first and milestone Autologous Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant in a case of high-risk multiple myeloma. According to a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), a spokesperson said the patient was admitted to Medical Unit-III of the Postgraduate Department of Medicine, and the whole procedure was conducted by the qualified and experienced Clinical Haematologist Dr. Mir Sadaqat, Assistant Professor-Department of Medicine and Clinical Haematology Unit of GMC and Associated Super-Specialty Hospital Srinagar. Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Monday kick-started a week-long massive anti-encroachment drive in various areas of the city. The drive was held under the supervision of the Chief Anti-encroachment Officer and Anti-encroachment Officer along with other officers of the Corporation.
