COVID-19 mock drill held across major Government hospitals in Kashmir

For COVID-19 management, Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences conducted a mock drill on Tuesday to test all the resources in presence of Prof Parvaiz A Koul Director SKIMS & EOSG and Prof Farooq A Jan Medical Superintendent, SKIMS. The drill was mainly aimed to have better preparedness with regard to required resources for COVID-19 management and to address deficiencies in advance, a statement issue to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) reads. Minor dies, Two women injured in Shopian road accident

Meer irfan A minor boy died and two others were injured during a road accident in Zawoora area of Shopian. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday afternoon an alto vehicle skidded off the road in the Zawoora area of the Shopian district, resulting in injuries to three people. The three were shifted to the nearby hospital where one of them succumbed to his injuries, he said. He identified the deceased boy as Janu Shakeel son of Shakeel Ahmed of Shopian while the injured were identified as Gulshana Bano wife of Abdul Rashid and Nusrat Jan wife Riyaz Ahmed. Two others are being treated in the nearby hospital.

Over 22 lakh tourists have visited Kashmir this year, Director Tourism Fazl-ul-Haseeb said on Tuesday. “From January 2022 to December 21st this year, 22,59,569 tourists have visited Kashmir Valley. These include 22,40,616 domestic tourists and 18,953 foreign arrivals,” Director Tourism Fazl-ul-Haseeb told the news agency Kashmir News Trust. Jammu Kashmir Board of Secondary Education (JKBOSE) will close the application window for the Class 10 and Class 12 exams (Jammu Kashmir Board Exam 2023) today. Students who have not submitted their application forms now can submit their application form for the academic session 2023 by visiting the official website jkbose.nic.in. Several families turn homeless as fire damages six residential houses in Srinagar

At least six residential houses were damaged in an overnight blaze in the Dalgate area of Srinagar. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that on Tuesday massive flames broke out from a residential house in the Kunrache area of Srinagar's Dalgate which spread to the nearby houses. The fire soon spread to the nearby houses in the congested locality, causing damage to at least six residential houses. The fire tenders along with locals rushed to the spot and prevented the fire from spreading further, they said. Installed with much fanfare to decongest the traffic flow, the Rs 33 lakh traffic signal system project has proved to be a non-starter in Baramulla town. The traffic lights were installed at three places in the town to ensure smooth flow of traffic and to do away with the frequent traffic jams witnessed in the town.
