2 dead as truck rolls down into gorge in Ramban

At least two persons died after a truck, laden with gas cylinders, rolled down into a deep gorge near Battery Chishma area of Ramban district on Monday early morning, officials said here. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a gas cylinder laden truck rolled down into a deep gorge near Battery Chishma at around 04:00 AM. He said soon after the incident, a rescue operation was launched jointly by Police, QRT and Army's ROP. The official said two bodies have been recovered from the spot while their identity was being ascertained. “The rescue operation is still going on in the area, as the truck has rolled down deep into the gorge,” he added—(KNO)

Two persons injured in road accident in Kulgam

Danishwar Hameed Two persons were critically wounded in a road accident in the area of Kulgam. An official told The Kashmiriyat that on Monday afternoon, a bike with a rider and pillion were traveling from Bangward to Kulgam when they collided with a Tata magic, resulting in injuries to both of them. The duo identified as Nisar Ahmad Gorsi son of Atta Mohammed Gorsi, aged 22, and Nisar Ahmad Tenda son of Fakeer Mohd Tenda, aged 25, both residents of Bangward were shifted to the nearby hospital for treatment. The two were referred to SMHS for further treatment, the official said.

Suspect detained after IED material weighing 15Kg, other material recovered in Udhampur

A suspected person was detained by police on Monday after IED material weighing 15kg along with other materials were recovered in forests of the Basantgarh area of Udhampur district of Jammu division. Official sources told GNS that IED-like material weighing around 15 kg in a cylindrical shape, 300-400 gms of RDX, 7 7.62mm cartridges, 5 Detonators, one coded sheet, and one letter pad page of LeT outfit were recovered. In this regard an FIR NO-47/2022 U/S 4/5 explosive act &16/18/23 UAPA act has been registered in Police station Basantgarh, they said. High Court directs former JK Minister to evict government bungalow

The High Court of Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh has dismissed the application filed by former Minister Choudary Lal Singh in which he had challenged his eviction from a ministerial bungalow. Choudary Lal Singh had filed an application through his counsel asking the court put the eviction order on hold till the threat perception against him is being assessed. In a bizzare incident of its kind, a man from Pattan area of Baramulla district got E-challan for his vehicle for violating traffic rules in Rajasthan, where he never visited. Vehicle owner, Abdul Ahad Yatoo told said that he got the E-challan of Rs 10, 000 for his vehicle beating registration number JK05F 1965 via an SMS of E-Challan for violating traffic rules in Rajasthan.
