DDC member installs 5 transformers in Anantnag area

SOUTH KASHMIR
A DDC member from the Achabal area of Anantnag donated six electric transformers to the people of the Achabal belt in the south Kashmir district. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, locals said that due to the lack of electricity, DDC member Sameena Hussain provided transformers to the Telwani, Sansuma, and Bulbul Nowgam areas of Anantnag. They said that the installation of transformers has brought relief to the local residents who had been suffering due to the shortage of electricity in the area. Accompanying her during the installation cum inauguration was Jammu Kashmir National Conference senior social media analyst JKNC Hashim Hussain, who said, "It cost us around 6-7 lac on average, it is from DDC funds. We installed 250kv upgradation transformation in Telwani."

In Jammu Kashmir, over 52 percent of Government Upper Primary Schools have a total enrolment of 60 students or less. The Jammu Kashmir police on Sunday rescued a woman after she attempted to commit suicide by climbing over a hillock in Delina area of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the woman, a native of West Bengal has climbed a hillock in Delina in an attempt to commit suicide. He said, however, a police team reached the spot and engaged the woman in a conversation, while she was tactfully pulled off from the edge of the hillock.
