Another earthquake jolts Jammu Kashmir

An earthquake measuring 3.6 on the Richter scale jolted Jammu Kashmir at 11:12 pm on Sunday. The earthquake struck at 11:12 PM at a depth of 10 km from the surface. Its coordinates are latitude 33.54 degrees and longitude 76.24 degrees, the officials said. However, there were no immediate reports of any loss of life or damage to property due to the earthquake. A highly talented papier machie artist from Srinagar has been working for the last four decades to keep the exquisite artwork alive. Papier machie artists are abandoning the craft in the face of low wages with the younger generation little interested in carrying forward the trade. Water shortage forces closure of toilet block in Sopore, people suffer

A public convenience in Sopore that opened a few months ago has been closed in the face of water scarcity. Eight civilians were killed in artillery shelling by the Saudi-led coalition on the border district of Shada, west of Saada Governorate in northern Yemen.
