Jammu Kashmir police have announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for sharing information about militants involved in Rajouri attack in which six civilians were killed on Sunday evening. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that if any person shares any specific information about militants involved in the attack he/she will be rewarded with Rs 10 lakh. He also said the details of the informer shall be kept secret. Earlier today, a special team of the National Investigation Agency also reached to the crime scene in Dangri village. A lineman of PDD was trapped by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while accepting bribe of 3000 rupees in south Kashmir's Kulgam district. An official of ACB said, Mohammad Yousuf Dar, a Lineman of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited trapped by ACB for demanding and accepting a bribe of ₹3,000 for the settlement of the bill in Kulgam. Two children had died after an Improvised Explosive Device, or IED, exploded inside a house in Upper Dangri village of Rajouri. Mounds of waste around Government Degree College at Levdora area of Qazigund is causing inconvenience to people, especially students. The college was established in March 2019 with about 600 students on the roll. Distribution of rice and wheat amongst NFSA beneficiaries to be free of cost from January, 1st, 2023

In an important decision, Government of India has made distribution of foodgrains to NFSA beneficiaries free of cost from January, 1st, 2023. So far under NFSA, subsidized foodgrains were being distributed at Rs 3 per kg for rice, Rs. 2 per kg for wheat and Rs. 3 per kg for wheat flour to NFSA beneficiaries under PDS in Jammu & Kashmir. The Central Government has now decided to provide free of cost foodgrains, rice and wheat, to all NFSA beneficiaries under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) for one year, effective from 1st January, 2023. The Department of Food & Public Distribution in J&K is commencing free distribution of foodgrains (rice and wheat) to all NFSA beneficiaries from 1st January, 2023 across Jammu and Kashmir. Dead body of a missing old man found in Srinagar

River Police on Monday recovered the dead body of a septuagenarian man from the river Jehlum in Srinagar. The dead body was retrieved between Budshah Bridge and Amirakadal. The deceased person has been identified as 70-year-old Ghulam Muhammad Bhat, a resident of Rambagh who had gone missing on 26 December last month.
