At least ten cattle were killed in a bear attack on intervening Friday and Saturday night in Babagail Limber of Boniyar, Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Reports said that a black bear attacked a cow shed, belonging to two brothers Baya Kassana and Noora Kassana – sons of Mohammed Ali Kassana. A total of ten livestock animals which included; two cows, five goats, and three sheep were killed in the attack. There have been such incidents happening for last several years now, which have resulted in the loss of at least forty livestock animals, locals said. The residents of Chanpora in Nowshera hamlet of Srinagar are up in arms against the R&B and UEED department for failing to repair the road in the area. The residents of the area while talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said, that the road has been in dilapidated condition for months together and even after raising issues with concerned authorities, no action has been initiated yet, they said.
