Two militants of ‘The Resistance Front’ (TRF) were arrested by Police, officials said on Friday. In a tweet, police identified the duo as Zubair Gul son of Ghulam Mohammad Bhat of Zoonimar (Category C) and Mohammad Hamza Wali son of Mohammad Yousuf of Safakadal (hybrid). “They were involved in many incidents in Srinagar,” police said as per GNS. “Pistol, grenade etc recovered. A 26-year-old youth died while three others were rescued after a snow avalanche hit the Machil area of Kupwara district on Friday, officials said. Official sources told the news agency–Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a snow avalanche hit the Chontiwari area of Machil area due to which several people got stuck. Chairperson of Waqf Board, Darakshan Andrabi on Thursday said that at least 5000 notified properties are presently missing and that the process has been started to locate these possessions while the illegal occupants have also been directed to pay rent or vacate the assets within 15 days. The Union Home Ministry on Friday declared “Jammu & Kashmir Ghaznavi Force” as a “terrorist organization” under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act-1967.
