Three leaders of a Srinagar-based pro-establishment group, Awami Awaaz Party have been detained in Srinagar for "anti national" byte during a press conference along with other charges. Its president Suhail Khan along with two other leaders Nadeem Shafi Rather and Umer Majeed during a press conference on Wednesday had accused top brass officials and bureaucrats of corruption during the ongoing anti-eviction drive in Jammu Kashmir. Gunshots trigger panic in Srinagar area, Search Operation launched

A Cordon and Search Operation has been launched in Srinagar's Qamarwari area after gunshots were heard on Thursday morning in the area. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that gunshots were heard around the area on Thursday morning creating panic in the whole area. "Some gunshot like sound was heard in Qamarwari area. Police team is in the locality to ascertain facts, there is no damage or injury whatsoever. Cordon and Search Operations launched in the area," Srinagar Police tweeted. Meanwhile, Police and CRPF have also rushed to the spot. More details are awaited.

Partly cloudy, dry weather in Kashmir for next 24 hours: MeT

Weather was dry in Jammu Kashmir during the last 24 hours as the MeT office said on Thursday that dry weather with partly cloudy sky is likely to continue. “Dry, partly cloudy weather is likely in J-K during the next 24 hours,” an official of the Meteorological (MeT) department said. Srinagar had 1.3, Pahalgam minus 1.9 and Gulmarg minus 2 degrees Celsius as the minimum temperature. In Ladakh region, Drass town had minus 10.9, Kargil minus 10.8 and Leh minus 7 as the minimum temperature. Jammu had 11.2, Katra 12, Batote 8.2, Banihal 4 and Bhaderwah 4.6 as the minimum temperature.

Public transport disappears in evening hours in Bandipora, commuters suffer

Non-availability of public transport in evening hours has caused immense hardships to the people of several villages in north Kashmir's Bandipora district, commuters complained here on Wednesday. Commuters from several villages including TA-Shah, Arin, Gundpora-Rampora, CA-Khan and Gamroo told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that they are facing immense problems due to lack of public transport service in the evening hours for the last four months. The Special court on Wednesday granted 10 days police remand of Principal and assistant professor to Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) in a corruption case. A massive fire has broken out in a Sericulture department building in Pingwani area in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district, officials said.
