Jammu  Kashmir Anti-Corruption Bureau on Tuesday evening arrested an Assistant professor of higher education department in a bribery case of principal of a degree college in Kashmir. Over one dozer shops were sealed by the officials in the Hyderpora area of the Srinagar district on Tuesday evening. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that the Custodian Department of Jammu Kashmir sealed at least 15 shops in the IQ Mall at Srinagar's Hyderpora. They said that the officials of the said department have taken custody of the shops. Custodian Department of Jammu Kashmir, however, said that the shopkeepers have taken possession of the shops decades back and have not paid any rent to the department. "They have occupied the shops and despite several notices, these shopkeepers have failed to reach to the department," they said. A two-year-old boy died after he drowned in a stream in Chewa area of central Kashmir's Budgam district on Tuesday evening. Locals told news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) that one Rumaan Wahid Zargar (2), son of Abdul Waheed, a resident of Chew Budgam drowned in Lar-Kol here. At least 31,643 people were killed by two strong earthquakes that jolted southern Türkiye last week, the country’s disaster agency said Monday. Two persons, including a migrant worker, were found dead in mysterious circumstances in the Bemina and Batmaloo areas of Srinagar city on Tuesday, reports said. Quoting an official, news agency KDC reported that Babu Ali (65), son of Hussain, a resident of Jalalpur in Uttar Pradesh, was found dead at his rented accommodation at SD colony in Bemina.
