A postpartum woman had to be carried on a cot by her family to reach back home from a health facility as the authorities concerned allegedly are yet to clear several stretches of the accumulated snow in Uri in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district. Police recovers 9.5 KG narcotic from Anantnag house

Jammu Kashmir Police on Sunday seized 9.500 Kgs of Narcotic substance from a house in South Kashmir's Anantnag district. After Doda, Ramban residents evacuated as houses develop cracks

Two days after twenty-one families were evacuated from Doda's Thathri, Five more families were shifted to a school building after their houses developed cracks following an expansion work on a highway in Jammu Kashmir's Ramban district. A resident told reporters that the cracks were developed after cutting activity was carried out by a construction company on the highway as a result of which the hill began to slide down in the Basti area. It also slid down due to rain, he said. The station house officer (SHO) and tehsildar evacuated the families and shifted them to a school. The residents have sought action against the construction company, blaming them for making the area housing 20 to 25 houses insecure.–(PTI)

Several landlords booked for not providing details of tenants: Police

Eight cases were registered against land owners, including hoteliers, for not providing details of tenants to police in Jammu and Kashmir's Reasi district, officials said on Saturday. Four cases each were registered at the Katra and the Reasi police stations under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, the official said. He said all landlords and hotel owners had been directed to submit details of their tenants and domestic helps to the police stations concerned. Police have verified the identities of 326 tenants staying in different areas of the district so far, the official added. The Aadhaar card had a picture of a dog. Tommy's father's name was mentioned as Sheru and his mother is named Ginni. The Aadhaar card mentioned Tommy's date of birth to be April 14, 2022. The address was mentioned as village Pandepokhar, Panchayat Rauna, ward number 13, circle Guraru and police station Konch. The Aadhaar card also reads, "Aadhaar - aam kutta ka adhikaar." A photo of Tommy's Aadhar card has gone viral on social media. Circle Officer of Guraru block Sanjeev Kumar Trivedi said that the phone number mentioned on the application shows the name of some Raja Babu on Truecaller. The officials rejected the application and police are investigating the incident to nab the miscreant behind the prank.

Kashmiri businessman kidnapped in Delhi, rescued from Punjab

A 40-year-old Kashmiri businessman, who was abducted by his two business partners from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate area, was rescued from Punjab, an official said on Saturday, NDTV reported. After six hours, Delhi Police along with its counterpart Punjab Police managed to rescue the victim and nabbed the kidnappers from Phagwara in Punjab. The Federal Bureau of (FBI) is looking for an Indian man after finding explosive devices in his home Tuesday. The FBI in Little Rock and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives in New Orleans is looking to find and arrest Neil Ravi Mehta, 31, for unlawful possession of an unregistered destructive device, according to local reports. The devices were found when agents searched Mehta’s residence in Fort Smith, according to FBI Little Rock spokesman Connor Hagan. He said multiple explosive devices were found inside the residence that were rendered safe by federal agents. Mehta remains at large. He is described as being 5’11” and weighing 160 pounds.
