The minimum temperature dropped on Thursday below normal in twin capitals and Pahalgam even as the weather department forecast mainly clear to partly cloudy weather at most places in the next few days in Jammu Kashmir. A man was injured in a mysterious blast in Warpora area of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the man was digging earth at his orchard in Warpora when the blast took place. He said that the man was injured in the incident and was immediately shifted to a nearby health facility, where from he was referred to Srinagar. Locals told The Kashmiriyat that around 2 AM on Thursday, a landslide hit Shalmachi Yarikhah area of the Noorabad area in Kulgam creating panic among the locals. They said that one residential house was damaged and three shops also suffered damage during the landslide. "The shops belonged to Fayaz Ahmed and Abdul Majeed Hajam, both local residents," they said. A minor girl was allegedly sexually assaulted at the Sher e Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Officials said on Wednesday. An official said that a minor girl (name with held) was sexually assaulted by a mid-aged man identified as Mohammed Ashraf Lone, a resident of Pulwama. As soon as Police received the complaint, the accused (Mohammed Ashraf) was arrested on the charges of arresting the minor girl at Srinagar's premier hospital. Meer Irfan A Kashmiri driver was allegedly assaulted by unidentified goons in the Udhampur district of Jammu Kashmir. Speaking to The Kashmiriyat, his brother said that on Wednesday evening a driver identified as Mohammed Ishaq Kholi, 28, a resident of Shopian was assaulted by goons for unknown reasons in the Mansar area of Udhampur district. His brother said that the goons who were in a four-wheeler stopped their vehicle and stopped Ishaq's vehicle that was on the way from Jammu-Srinagar and forced Ishaq to get out of the truck. A private school building was damaged partially in a fire mishap in Dardpora Lolab area in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. Reports said that a school building ‘Al-Falah Public School’ caught fire this morning, following which fire and emergency department reached the site. The fire was brought under control after persistent efforts by the fire and emergency services department assisted by locals.
