50-year-old woman found dead in open field at Poonch

The body of a 50-year-old woman was found under mysterious circumstances in Poonch district on Wednesday, officials said. An official told the news agency GNS that the body was found by police in an open field near Ari Bridge at Mendhar area of the district on Wednesday morning. The deceased was later identified as Shahmim Akhter (50) wife of Mohammad Ashraf of Ari village. Meanwhile, police shifted the body to Sub District Hospital Mendhar for autopsy. “We have started inquest proceedings,” official said.

Two persons were killed after being hit by an ambulance near Children's hospital in Bemina area of Srinagar early Wednesday morning. An official told news agency Kashmir Dot Com that two persons identified as Ali Mohammad Dar, a resident of Nowpora, Baramulla, and Fayaz Ahmad Chopan, a resident of Hadipora, Rafiabad were critically injured after they were hit by a speeding ambulance near children's hospital Bemina in wee hours on Wednesday. The government on Monday said that the process to scrutinize over seven lakh ration card holders falling in the category of AAY and PHH in the Valley. Talking to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Director Food Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs (FCS&CA), Abdul Salam Mir said that the process to identify the undeserving families who have been categorized in AAY and PHH has been started. “We have directed the officers to complete the process across Kashmir within the period of one month,” he said.
