The Jammu Kashmir administration on Monday said that it will regularise the colonies of displaced families from Pakistan. Addressing a gathering in Jammu, LG Sinha said, JK admin will construct Smriti Bhawan in the memory of martyrs of Pakistan Administered Jammu Kashmir. Scores of sweepers working in School Education Department protested in Sopore, asking authorities for regularisation of their services. A sizable number of women working in the department across Sopore, as per GNS, gathered at Iqbal Market, raising slogans in support of their demands. "We have been continuously raising our voices, but nobody seems interested to listen to our pleas. We are working on meagre wages, but who cares?" the protesting women sweepers lamented. A truck driver was injured after hit by a shooting stone along Panthayal in Ramban district, officials said. They told GNS that the area has been witnessing intermittent shooting stones for quite a while now and one such stone hit a truck driver, leaving him injured besides damaging the vehicle. The injured driver, they said, was given first aid by a local NGO, following which he was evacuated from the site to a nearby health facility for treatment. (GNS)
