Budgam residents take admin to court for failing to check illegal mining

The residents of the Panzan area in central Kashmir have approached the court to initiate action against the Jammu Kashmir administration for having failed to check the unabated mining in the area. Reports reaching The Kashmiriyat said that aghast over the illegal mining at Shali Ganga stream in Budgam, the locals of Panzan have issued a legal notice through their counsel to the District Mineral Officer (DMO) Budgam and top officials asking them to stop the illegal practice. NIA attaches property of HM commander recently killed in Pakistan

The National Investigation Agency on Saturday attached property of a slain Hizbul Mujahideen militant in Kralpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district. An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the property belonged to Bashir Ahmed Peer alias Imtiyaz Alam, who was recently killed in Pakistan. The Jammu Kashmir administration has cancelled yet another exam in the region. Several job recruitment exams have been cancelled in the last three years. On Wednesday, the Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) cancelled the Paper-II (Qualifying) of the J-K Prosecuting Officer (Preliminary) Examination held in January. The fresh date for holding a fresh examination has been announced as 16th March 2023.
