School Edu Deptt to implement Students Police Cadet scheme for 8th, 9th class students

Authorities in Jammu Kashmir are all set to implement the Students Police Cadet (SPC) Scheme among the students of 8th and 9th standard. In this regard, OSD with Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has sought details of already identified students from Chief Education Officers (CEOs) of the region. The news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) has leant that the OSD in a letter to CEOs has said, “I am directed to request you to furnish the list of already identified students of 8th and 9th class for Implementation of SPC scheme in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir.” The officer has further said that the list should reach DSEK by or before March-6-2023. On world hearing day, the Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) on Friday warned against the excessive use of earphones. “Overuse of earphones at higher volumes over a prolonged period of time can result in hearing loss,” said DAK President Dr. Nisar ul Hassan. Dr. Hassan said the younger generation is particularly vulnerable because they are glued to their personal listening devices like earphones, headphones and earbuds. Six years on, water filtration plant at Alsafa Colony in Sopore outskirts falling under the Jal Shakhti (PHE) sub-division Watergam is awaiting completion. A month ahead of his wedding, Baramulla youth dies in road accident

A 27-year old biker died in a road accident in Gantamulla area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Friday. An official told Kashmir News Service (KNS) that the biker collided with a vehicle near Poshwan Colony Gantamulla, resulting in critical injuries to him. He said the injured was immediately rushed to GMC Baramulla where he was declared dead on arrival. The official identified him as Nayeem Ahmad Lone son of Farooq Ahmad Lone residents of Badmulla Sheeri. Nayeem was scheduled to get married after a month and with his death a pale of gloom has descended in his locality. Meanwhile, police have registered a case in this regards. (KNS)

The Jammu Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) which is the apex body for recruitment of gazetted posts has advertised 285 vacancies for the post of the Assistant Professor. Pertinently, the JKPSC has not advertised even a single post for the media department. In its most recent announcement, the commission requested online applications for the hiring of Assistant Professors in a number of fields for the Jammu and Kashmir higher education department. The submission of applications will start on March 3. An old stone sculpture which may be thousands of years old has been found during an excavation in Sivali village of Doda district of Jammu Kashmir. As per news reports, the people of the local village were digging for water, when they notices the sculptures buried about 10 feet below the ground. Seeing the artifacts of these idols, it is said that the stone belongs to the Mahabharata period. At present, the local has demanded an investigation by the Archaeological Survey of India.
