Residents of Sangrama area of north Kashmir's Baramulla district on Wednesday held a protest against the Power Development Department (PDD) over irregular power supply, causing inconvenience to the residents. Reports reaching the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) said that inhabitants blocked the Srinagar-Baramulla national highway, thereby halting traffic movement on the road. Mahira Shah, 24, a resident of Pinglish Tral in south Kashmir has marked her entry in the Indian Book of Records, by creating the world’s smallest Shikara in Mandala Art. Mahira Shah, a talented mandala artist was interested in art from childhood and honed her skills with time. “I am a self-taught mandala artist. In 2008, I started doing paintings and sculptures but as I proceeded to make myself better in this field of art, my art pieces were not so attractive following which I got the idea of making mandala art and succeeded in it,” Mahira said. “With the blessings of Allah, I became interested in creating world records. Nasir ul Islam, Kashmir's grand Mufti has on Tuesday said that Shab e Qadr will be observed on 17th April 2023 in the Kashmir valley (the intervening night of the 26th and 27th day of Ramadan). In a meeting attended by several religious clerics from across Kashmir affiliated with all schools of thought, the committee unanimously decided that the Shab e Qadr will be observed on 17th April, 2023.
